Last year, when the "Me Too" movement gained notoriety, I contacted them to share my story. At first, I was so excited to be able to say, "This happened to me! And, I want to help others through the trauma!" Fairly quickly I learned they were/are completely disinterested in my experience. I reflected long and hard and realized that my story and my truth didn't fit the "Me Too" narrative. And, sometimes when your truth doesn't fit a narrative, it's not appreciated very much.
