Pumpkin Love

Have I mentioned that Autumn inspires me?  With the shorter days and crisp Fall nights, it's important to keep our skin moisturized.  Last weekend, I was in Steamboat Springs, CO at the Strawberry Hot Springs with a full moon and a sky full of stars.  The hot mineral pools left my skin feeling so soft.

It surprises most people to learn that I used to be a smoker back in my 20's and early 30's.  Since quitting, not only did it open up a whole new world of activities and lifestyle, but I also got interested in skin care.  Nothing is worse for your skin that smoking.  I can look back at old pictures and see the sallowness of my skin when I smoked.  I actually look younger now than when I smoked.  One thing I learned is that in our thirties, our skin stops the natural exfoliation process.  That's why it's so important exfoliate skin, so we can generate new healthy skin cells.  Also, a little extra trick: I'm not sure if anyone has tried a derma-roller, but after I cleanse and exfoliate, I run a derma-roller over my skin to help soak in the product I use.  I noticed a big difference once I invested in one.  A skin care professional back in South Carolina explained I was wasting most of my product, because it wasn't penetrating deep enough.

Okay, back to pumpkin naughtiness....

A healthy and glowing complexion goes a long way.  It's one of the first things I notice and admire is when someone is glowing, along with an authentic smile.  That's why I got inspired to make my own scrub, "Colorado Kimmie Pumpkin Scrub."  It smells like a warm cozy Fall night, and it's an all-natural sugar scrub so it can be used on the face, hands, and body.  I've even shaved with it the other night, and it made my legs so soft.

Here are a few health benefits of adding exfoliation into your skin care routine:

1) Boosts circulation and lymphatic drainage
2) Prevents acne
3) Helps other skin care products penetrate deeper into the skin
4) Unclogs your pores
5) Boosts new cell growth
6) Boosts collagen synthesis
7) Evens out your skin tone

What about you?  Are you a pumpkin-lover in the Fall?  I'm odd in that I don't love eating or drinking pumpkin flavored anything (well, maybe in extremely small doses), but I sure do love the lovely aroma of pumpkin.  It's so amazingly aromatic with a hot bath, too.  Hit me up if you're interesting in trying my scrub!  And, have a lovely rest of your week, friends!  I hope you are scheduling some self-love and relaxation in to your daily schedule and enjoying the Autumn weather.

Much Love,

Kimmie
