Favorite Quarantine Purchases
These items thankfully got me mentally and spiritually through the quarantine and helped me stay young at heart. For a minimalist, these are like key items for happiness.
1) My Giant "Liv" Mountain bike:
About a week before heading to Colorado, I took my bike into Bike's Plus on Poplar in Germantown. I highly recommend this place to my Memphis friends. Anyways, my Raleigh mntn bike needed a tune up and, well, over $400 later, I realized I could just invest in a new bike. So, I splurged for a Liv bike which is a bike like from Giant made for and by women to fit the unique build and curvature of our beautiful bodies. The owner through in a free pair of Liv riding shorts which I love. They are knee shorts but have a full biker short lining that is fully padded. Lot of pockets to hide secrets. This bike has been my "throw on some ear buds, good tunes, and cruise the Greenway for ten miles" THERAPY!
2) Wear Me Rose tinted sunnies (round Elton John style):
These make hikes so gorgeous and they are polarized!! So even on cloudy days you can wear some sun protection and it not be too dark. It really pulls out the snow capped Rockies. But, life is just a lot peachier when I'm wearing them. Sometimes, it's hard to remember to take them off before bed. These come with a great protector case as well!
3) A biking, hiking, and running water bladder (for concerts too, vino pack):
Okay, so I donated my old Green one you can see in plenty of my FB hiking pics. And, I opted for an even smaller one. This is from Amazon. Great for day trips, hiking, mntn biking, running. I ran with it this morning, and it's so dope! It houses keys, phone, light lunch even, a light rain jacket. So I can't wait to take it on my last hike. If you read my last post, I ran out of water on my last hike. Never again! Anyways, this is insulated, has Velcro straps, great adjustment straps...comes in cool colors and has a rainbow zipper.
4) New Runners + Hoka love:
I only wish I knew about these guys earlier. The ergonomics and padding is like a hammock for your feet that propels you forward into clouds of awesomeness. I'm so in love with the French engineering. I got so much hell for this color, but GUYS! It's a Greenway with white concrete pathway. These are road shoes. We'll be fine. If they get a little dusty, it'll be BA. Let me live!
5) Skin Care + Instant Face Lift (Amazon) + (And Genefique Lancome):
Instant Face Lift has some good ingredients - hyaluronic acid. I've been using this at night for a while. So the key is, you wet your face after cleansing and toning and then pump a few pumps onto your skin. It dries so tight. It feels like you're frozen. Which is fine, you'll be sleeping anyways. You wake up so refreshed. I got some Lancome for my birthday this year. Lacome Genefique never disappoints. Immediate results.
6) Shue Foam + A cute trucker hat (Amazon):
Let's face it, we ain't seen the shiny part of the scissors in a long
while. Not to mention faded out color and roots and bang issues. (Although I've learned the art of braiding from a young age, and additionally found out I love curtain bangs). So, a cute trucker hat is essential for quarantine. I got mine off Amazon and it's super cute and matches the pink sunnies.
7) Insta-pot + Yedi 9 in one instant programmable pressure cooker (Amazon)
Like partayyy every night with this bad boy. Also, I hear it's the ONLY way to make sweet pots. (that's sweet taters to you Southern friends.)
8) Dollar tree Pedicure supplies $7 pedicure!:
I posted a video on FB about this. So necessary, especially if the bottom of your feet were picking the burber carpet like mine.

Love my Giant bike - it's an XS which fits my short bod. Thanks for the list. Now I know what the young folk are wearing and using, I can pick up that stuff for myself or as presents. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAwe, I'm so glad! Yea I was an Amazon junkie during the quarantine as an act of self love. Haha, but each item serves a daily purpose, so good investments, too! Happy pedaling to you!
